Description: As part of the consultancy agreement signed with the Pan American Health Organization, FADSE conducted qualitative and quantitative research at the national level. Based on Ecuador’s official Statistical Production Model, this research analyzes knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to chronic child malnutrition (DCI), incorporating intercultural, geographic, and rights-based approaches.

The study’s target population includes pregnant women, mothers, and caregivers of children under two years of age. The sample is based on the list of priority parishes identified by the Ecuador Grows Without Malnutrition Strategy and covers both urban and rural sectors, as well as the geographic regions of the Highlands, Coast, and Amazon. It also includes areas inhabited by the Kichwa peoples and nationalities of the Highlands and Amazon, as well as the Shuar, Achuar, and Afro-Ecuadorian peoples.
